Delivered to Belgian AF as FG576, Jan. 10, 1965-1973. - Based in Belgian Congo (later Zaire AF) and used as fighter bomber. -- Acqrued 1782 hours as combat aircraft. -- Damaged by ground fire, recieving 6 bullet holes, Mar. 29, 1965. - Retired with 4637 hours totaL time on airframe. Kal-Aero, Kalamazoo, MI, Apr. 12, 1977-1979. - Ferried from Zaire to Kalamazoo, MI via Biggen Hill, UK, France, Spain, Dakar, Morocco. - Rebuilt to airworthy in VT-5 scheme with weapons and gunnery systems intact. - Awarded Grand Champion War Bird at Oshkosh 1979.
